Welcome Bulletin Boards?

I am need to create my bulletin board for the beginning of the school year and I need some ideas. I am teaching 3rd grade this year. I just want something to include everyone’s names, yet in a very creative way. Does anyone have any suggestions? Please include the website links. Thank you so much!

Create an “All about me” bulletin board with everyone’s name on it on long strips of paper. Before each name leave a big enough box for each student to put a drawing of them self. After their name give them slots to fill in during the first part of the year with their favorite color, book, TV show, animal, fruit, vegetable, etc..

At the end of the use of the bulletin board you will know your students a lot better and you can give the strips to the parents at parent teacher conferences.

I have done a few boards. For example- make a large paintbrush out of construction paper. Then cut out blobs like in the shape of paint from different colors of construction paper. Place the children names on the blobs and the title is “I have a Colorful Class this Year”.

I hope this helps.

I even have one which i individually like. I made it by using utilising the overhead projector to explode a image of an previous college reel to reel action picture projector, a “take one” action picture snapper (?do no longer understand what they’re referred to as), and issues like that. Then I stapled up some popcorn boxes, milk dud boxes, coca-cola cups, etc. from the action picture coach full of faux popcorn, soda…. I decrease out stars and positioned the student’s photos up (copied from the cumulative folders). My identify replaced into “Ms. Curtis’ type Now Starring……”

I had a coworker that cut poster board into puzzle pieces, fit them together so the fit the board and each student and herself had one. Then she just wrote their names on the pieces (each one was about 12in x 12in) and let them decorate them. Above it she put something to the effect “We are all individuals, but we fit together perfectly”.

That’s the best thing I have seen. Sorry I don’t have a picture.

Last year, my welcome bulletin board had the title, Welcome (class number) superstars!” I bought some pre-made star cutouts and wrote each child’s name on the star. This year my theme is “Let’s step into a great school year” and I will write each student’s name on a footprint.

If you wanted to use everyone’s name in a creative way, I suggest doing something similar to graffiti. You could have a background of black paper and use colored chalk to bubble in all your students’ names. I haven’t ever done this but it sounds cool.
