Teaching Overseas?
Favorite Answer
The teaching English abroad part I can help you with though. I’ve been running a language school here in Thailand for just over ten years, and have been teaching here for almost 20 years.
The first thing you need to work out are your priorities, namely:
money, lifestyle, location, age of students you’d like to teach, if you have the right qualifications for the area(s) you’re applying, facilities offered by the school, etc.
Once you know what you are after, it makes finding it a lot easier. For example, if money is your number one priority, then the best place to look is the Middle East. If it’s lifestyle and/or location your after, look no further than Thailand (well I kind of have to say that, but it’s true!).
I find this field of work really satisfying, and I think the same can be said for our 6 other expatriate teachers.
If you have any other more specific questions, please feel free to e-mail me. I wish you all the best with your new adventure.
