In-Home Tutoring?
Favorite Answer
I use home tutoring for one of my family members. We work 2 hours a day M-F on specific topics. It rotates 3 days of reading and writing and 2 days math then the following week is 3 days of math and 2 days of reading and writing. This allows us to balance the amount of time we are spending on a topic and allows the family member to take a break from a topic she is struggling with.
Now if you are talking about home schooling, it is up to the individual family. There are families that are suited for home schooling and others that should not attempt it. There are many home schooling organizations across the country. I would try to locate one in your area. There are huge benefits for connecting to groups:
1) problem solving
2) sharing responsibilities
3) socialization
Many colleges are now taking serious looks at home school students over public school students. Home schooled students are more rounded in many aspects of their education. Many areas that public schools are letting go of such as theater – music – photograph are things that home school students can participate in because their schooling is much more streamlined.
This is essential for integrating new material, building confidence and positive reinforcement.
It is easy and extremely useful.
But with some cases, it is a must.
