How would I make a pocket chart for my kids? It’s going to be a place to set a card for a finished task.?

If you can obtain library book pockets, those are perfect to glue onto a big poster board to make a pocket chart. If not, get envelopes, cut off the flaps, and glue them onto a poster board. Also, you can tape sentences strips onto a poster board so that only the tops are untaped or laminate the whole board and just score the top of the strips so that you can put cards into them and staple every 5 or so inches to make partitions. Hope that helps.

You are a bit vague as to the size of chart.

The easiest thing would be to buy a ready made pocket chart (Walmart usually has standard pocket charts at a very reasonable price in the weeks before school starts). Reallygoodstuff.com has them in a variety of sizes.

To make one you would need to purchase rip nylon and clear vinyl along with heavy duty thread and have access to a sewing machine. You could also use cardboard, good ol’ duck tape, and clear vinyl. In the long run it would probably be cheaper to buy one ready made.

If you are look for a small one or two pocket chart for your refrigerator or cork board, you can buy clear document jackets at the office supply store that may work for your needs.

Not sure what you mean by pocket charts. If you mean a set of index cards, then you can laminate them. My school has a lamination machine where I can laminate a whole class set very easily.

I say you buy one. Any teacher supply store will have them in all sorts of sizes and colors. There are even fancy ones in special shapes and designes (apples, trees, venn diagrams, etc.)
