Can you recommend some killer children’s lit illustrations?

I’m doing a book/reading theme for my nursery and would like to put illustrations from children’s books up as art. I’d love some input from other people as to what would be some good books to look at. They don’t necessarily have to be illustrations or stories about books/reading, but they do have to look cool. I’d also like them to incorporate creativity and imagination. Thanks for any and all suggestions!

After almost 40 years I still think the illustrations from “Where the Wild Things Are” (Maurice Sendak) are masterpieces. On a lighter and more natural note, check out “Make Way for Ducklings” by Robert McCloskey. Also, of course, “Animalia” by Graeme Base. Good luck!

I would suggest illustrations by Nicole Tadgell. One book she illustrated is Fatuma’s New Cloth By Leslie Bulion. Even some illustrations by Chris Van Allsburg (The Polar Express).

How about some from books like Beatrix Potter’s The Tale of Peter Rabbit, Mrs. Rumphius by Barbara Cooney, or anything by Eric Carle. http://www.eric-carle.com/

All of the other suggestions are fabulous. I’d definitely put some Dr. Seuss characters up, too. Books by P.D. Eastman are also so wonderful (Are You My Mother? is one). Other great enduring characters are The Rainbow Fish, the rabbits from Goodnight Moon, Mother Goose, Curious George, and Frog and Toad.

Congratulations!!

Eric Harris is a killer. he’s to no longer be appeared as much as in any respect. Eric Harris represents an incredible form of youngsters who’re picked on and mocked in our public faculties. In my day we segregated ourselves into communities. i became a “stoner” and we had our “jocks” and others. i became fortunate that i became a fighter and when I had a bully project it became corrected immediately. it form of feels that the Jocks challenged the ditch Coat Mafia and initially gained. the ditch Coat Mafia spoke back returned with bombs and weapons. that’s no diverse then what occurs in our inner cities daily with gang violence. the only factor that made this diverse is that it occurred in an bigger classification white community. I pray that this serves as a reminder to all of the bully form young ones available, that human beings have emotions and that they are very precious. in case you opt to snigger at them and ridicule them then you definitely could get carry of the charge on your exertions.
