Once my classes started becoming harder, I started going to ask the teacher for extra help (especially if I was really sleepy or missed class that day).

After I got my graded homework back, I always redid all the problems or discussed them with other people so I’d understand them better.

I also used to like to tell my parents about what I learned that day in school, so I’d remember better. For example, I remember that William Henry Harrison died after 31 days of being president, because he caught a virus after standing out in the rain giving his inaugural speech. I remember this because I must have told everybody I ran into the day the teacher told me that…

When I took Anatomy & Physiology, an interesting but difficult class, I always retyped my notes from class after class. Not only were they then more organized when it came time to study for an exam, but I was going over and processing the information a second time – it really helped.

I took a lot of notes and read the material at least 4 times until I completely understood the subject.

I studied in groups. Often, group discussion can give you additional insight. I attended tutoring sessions. I recorded lectures and listened to them repeatedly – repetition of material also is helpful.

Good luck!

Persistence, working effeciently, and time management. But it mostly relates to your attitude.I always tried to smile and keep positive when things were really down which helped out.
