If you let fish hang around your house after three days, they start to really stink BADLY. Guests are fine to have around the first couple of days but they start to become annoying, tiresome, and they turn your whole living situation upside down. Sometimes (and I’m saying this from personal experience) the guests may stink LITERALLY. The opposite of that statement is “Absence makes the heart grow fonder”.

Just as the fish becomes to smell after a few days. same with
visitors that stay at ur place. example: my aunt came over for a week. the 1st day was fine, after that, she, along with her two daughters, became an “obstacle/problem/annoying.” I couldn’t do the things I normally do. She would hog the TV and computer. Her daughters, my cuzs, would make a lot of noise, making it very loud and hectic in the house, etc. U get the idea?

Having guests in your home after three days gets tiresome. It disrupts your everyday routine. For the sake of the relationship, it is best that they leave.
If you have fish just hanging around the house for three days, it can get very smelly, and it is best to get rid of the fish.

It means that for the first three days, fish are good to eat and visitors are fun to have around, but after three days, the fish will rot and start to stink and if visitors stay more than three days, they will wear out their welcome and having them around “stinks.” Hope that makes sense!

It is a comment on people coming over to stay with you and outlasting their welcome. He’s basically saying that if house guests stay longer than 3 days, they become unwelcome, just as fish starts to rot and smell bad after 3 days.

I will stay a week or more, but I promise, I will pack myself in dry ice.
