It really don’t matta much

I’m going into Highschool Next Year (9th Grade) ACT CHECKT?

I was wondering if a 29 on the ACT is a good score. I took the test in April and just got my results back (because I was on vacation). My parents kept on saying it was good but the test is out of 36 so that’s like an 80 percent. And it said on the score breakdown that I was in the top 95 percentile…is that with kids in my grade, or everyone, or just 11/12th graders..?

the highest possible is 36 so 29 actually isn’t bad it’s about average. if you want to re-take it you could try to get a better score but, they take the highest score.

29 is a great score! A 29 will get you into most colleges. There is absolutely nothing wrong with a 29!

A 95th percentile means you did better than 95% of EVERYBODY that took the test!

Going into the 9th grade? 29? That’s a great score. You know you still have 2 years to study and by that time, you’ll take it again and get even higher. 29’s way above average, even for juniors…

EDIT: My mistake, the person who answered before me is right. The percentile is for everybody who took the test.

Your parents obviously don’t get what the ACT scores represent if they think a 29 is a bad score. Most juniors and seniors would kill for such a score. And yes, the ACT score represents everybody in the testing population, including juniors and seniors.

It means that you scored 95 percent higher than everyone who took the test that day
