It’s all depends on what type of English you’re using (American-English / British-English). In order to get those high scores that you need to achieve, practice is definitely very important (for both TOEFL/ielts). I came from Indonesia. For me, TOEFL was easier, because I took the CBT version, which still didn’t have the speaking part. But, since now you have to take the IBT version (which has the speaking part and very similar to IELTS), both of the tests have the same difficulties (i think).

I had taken TOEFL courses and had praticed a lot before I took the real test. But, some of my friends (also from Indonesia) were taking IELTS and they got high score on the test. So, basically, both of the tests are the same.

Good Luck. aza aza fighting!

I think IELTS is a bit easier because it last shorter that TOEFL. We also have a chance to meet face-to-face with the interviewer. IELTS is more active while iBT TOEFL is more passive because you deal with internet for about 4 hours where you only have 10 minutes break in between. It can be a backbreaking test. It actually depends on your own comfort. If you are familiar with American English then take TOEFL and the otherwise. Most university now either in US or UK and AUSI accept both.

toefl is for the US and Ielts is for the UK. Because Toefl is computer based it is difficult to get papers to practice on, so from that point of view, ielts is easier. However, a good score of 7 or 8 in ielts is very hard to get.

Both exams test your ability to THINK in English so do not be deceived by the varying disciplines of reading writing listening etc. If you are getting a low score, it is because you are still translating into and from Korean! You must read novels for pleasure as well as practice on whichever test you select. Hope this goes well. All best wishes in whichever exam you choose.

I am not aware of how the toefl would be, but passing out IELTS is quite easy cuz and moreover it has 3 sort of rouds like listening, reading and speaking in which all the scores are been added so that der is more chances to pass. and by having the cer. of IELTS it’s poss to go any european countries wereas oefl stands for Ame.
