Yes, but it shouldn’t be the most important factor. It has to be a factor because it is standardized. While other things like grades and essays can have different meanings for every student, the SAT and ACT are tests that can measure all students on the same material. For example, an A at one high school can be very different from an A at another because some schools may have very high standards for a student to get good grades.

i think it should be if you’re trying to get into a competitive university. i know it doesn’t really test your knowledge because it is timed, but it’s more of a test of efficiency to see how you can handle some pressures. obviously, top universities would want students who can do well under pressured circumstances. with that, i think it should be a factor.
