Math B Regents. Try and fail in August? Or skip and pass in January?

Well I failed the Math B in June 2007 with a 50. I haven’t studied at all and now the August exam is in two days, I’m positive I’ll fail if I try for it. If I skip the August one and take it in January 2008, which will give me time to study and I’ll be fairly confident that I’ll pass, will there be any consequences?

I just don’t want to fail it twice, that will make me look worse to colleges and what-not. I’m just worried that the school won’t allow me to take it in January or some crazy loop-hole like that.

So should I go for it and fail in August, or wait, study, and pass in January?

Thanks

WAIT. I can say this from experience. Wait until you are most confident. I am taking the math b regents tomorrow for my 3rd time because the second time around i just decided what the hell this is my next opportunity, let me take it. It’s important that you know what you are doing because it is a HARD test, as i’m sure you know. Plus if your school doesn’t offer the test in January, I’m sure others in your area will.

Good Luck!

I am in the exact same position! I failed my Math B regents with a 63..i know they couldnt find 2 points?!! Now i have to retake it tomorrow. I stayed home today .. was invited to go out with my friends but I want to study because I want to pass it once and for all so I dont have to worry my senior year about some stupid regents.. ill be set.. and if i do fail it tomorrow oh well i give it a shot..

i think you should look over your notes.. be confident in yourself .. go to nysregents.com and correct the mistakes you made on the june 07 regents so you dont make them again tomorrow.. dont get overwhelmed just take it a step at a time.

I have some good news for you. However many times you fail, it doesn’t matter. When you pass, and get the score you want…70 or whatever, they’ll count that grade. So, if you cram tonight and take it tomorrow and coincidently fail…you can always take it over in January and there will be no record of you failing. Trust me, take the test and see how you do! The colleges won’t see that you failed at all. They will see whatever score you got in the end. So try your best and make sure you are relaxed and comfortable when you’re taking the test. It’ll be well worth it in the long-run. Good luck! I’m sure you’ll do great! 🙂

Why weren’t you studying if you knew there was one in august. Now you are going to be in a class with younger kids and not be with your grade. Think about it. If it is in two days maybe you should just go over everything you do not understand and cram! It is something to think about. I did the same thing but I passed in august.

I had no concept what to do for the three-rad7 reciprocal question, and that i think of I did the whole circle one incorrect. the only the place we had to discover all and sundry of those angles interior the circle. And the only the place it replaced into like, “convey the sum in least perplexing radical a+bi style” or in spite of puzzled me slightly. yet different than that, i think of I controlled to discern maximum of them out. I positioned a million:2 for that answer, too.
