If I fail the driving test, how long must I wait to retake it?

I live in Alabama. I’m a pretty good driver, but I have no idea what’s on the test and my mom won’t let me practice. She says I don’t need to know parallel parking and stuff… so I might fail. Dunno. I know I can pass the written test, so that’s not a problem.

Hi,

I checked out the Alabama Department of Public Safety web site and found an FAQ on driver’s tests.

According to the site, “If you fail the test, you will be allowed to try again after you have had time to improve your driving. Only one road test per day is permitted.”

They don’t give an exact time frame on when you can take the test again, however based on the above quote, it’s safe to assume you can take another shot at getting your license relatively quickly. It may be on a case-by-case basis.

For more information, I suggest contacting your local department of motor vehicles.

good luck!

I failed once and it took like a month to reschedule >< (but thats southern cali and we are probably busier then you) Just remember to keep your hands at 10 o clock and 2 o clock position, check all traffic before turning check it very carefully, dont go too slow or too fast follow all the street signs, dont talk to the instructor and you will be fine. Oh and another thing make sure your horn works, your windows work, all doors open and close properly, ALL LIGHTS WORK, I failed another time because of a bad brake light. Anyways good luck!
