But I will be taking geometry this year. So how will i be prepared for it when I do not know geometry.

You can get a review book– you might just find one for the SAT and use that, it’s basically the same. It’ll explain problems for you and show you how to answer the questions. You also might look through your textbook for Geometry once you get it, get a tutor, or ask your teacher for help.

But mostly, don’t worry too much about it. The PSAT is just a good practice for the SAT. If you’re looking at National Merit (The PSAT is the qualifying test), you aren’t eligible for that until you take it as a junior anyway, so you’ll have time to go through more math. I know the PSAT is made to be a bit easier than the SAT, so they probably take into account the fact that student’s won’t have covered all the math yet.

Definitely get a review book, though: the best way to do well on these tests is to get as familiar with them as possible– from the time limits, to the content, the format of the test. Good luck!

The good news:

It’s good that you’re taking geometry this year. If you’re worried, you can buy a practice book and it’ll help a little bit. Only about 35 percent of the questions would you need geometry.

The PSAT doesn’t matter worth jack squat sophomore year, since you can’t be a National Merit Finalist and colleges don’t see it.

Finally, the PSAT only measures one thing: How well you take the PSAT. The test is easily self-coachable, so you can score higher on the math section if you do a little bit of prep and know what to expect.

I would purchase a review book and do your best. Look at the PSAT as practice.
