Any highschool tips….?

Any tips on how to stay several steps ahead of the game in high school.

Any tips on how to pay attention better in class, get better grades, raise GPA, learn more effectively, study hard during the summer so you’re ahead, etc.

Please, I need as much help as possible. Any tips will help, and I would also like if someone could give me some really fun clubs to join so it can relieve the stress of all of the studying. Thanks!

I want to stay several steps ahead of everyone else, I am going into junior year, and I want to get as close to a 100 % score in every class.

Don’t stress yourself out to be perfect…you’ll only end up frustrating yourself!

This might sound cliche, but make sure you are healthy if you want to succeed. You know that whole breakfast thing? Yup, it works. Eat something filling every day and stay away from simple sugars. Oatmeal, fruits, non-sugary cereals, think healthy! Get plenty of sleep and try to get into a schedule: wake up and go to bed around the same time every day.

I’m a visual learner, so in HS if there was something I didn’t quite understand, I would try to draw a little picture in the margin of my notes. You wouldn’t believe how many times I imagined those pictures during tests! If this doesn’t work for you, try word associations, rhymes, whatever helps you memorize things.

And finally, the BEST thing…READING! The more you read, the more you know. Read anything that interests you, magazines, non-fiction, fiction, newspapers, anything. Whenever you come across a word you don’t know, write it down and look it up. Reread the passage and really think about the new word….this method helped me expand my vocabulary.

As far as clubs go, find something you’re interested in. If you like photography, join the yearbook. Maybe a sports team, even if you just get together with some people after school to shoot some hoops. Look in your local newspaper for community groups…some times, the best clubs are outside of school.

I hope this helped and best of luck!

For one. Do your hw! those are like easy points. Study for tests and make sure you know what you’re doing. If you don’t, get help. You can also help your friends because when you tutor, it helps you know your material very well. Getting good grades has a lot to do with how motivated you are. If you’re really determine to do well, i’m sure you’ll achieve great success. Set your mind and whenever you feel like you’re getting distracted, remember your goals. I’m speaking from personal experience. I was really disappointed in myself first semester because i was really close to having a 4.0 Second semester came around and all my grades were borderline and that super stressed me out. So it all came down to finals and i studied really hard. There were times when i felt i wanted to give up but then i would remember how close i am and how much i really want this. In the end, all my hard work paid off and i was really proud of myself for being so determined and getting that 4.0

Definatly take AP classes and honors… if you are an honors student and if they offer Dual Enrollment where you are, thats great too. You definatly want to take your first SAT test this year… and a couple more times before December of your Senior year. Paying attention in class will help a lot. Take a lot of notes. Don’t want to burst your bubble but it will be extra hard to stay “several steps ahead of everyone else” if you havent already done so, being it’s your junior year.
