The Princeton Review offers some free prep classes, so I’d definitely go to their website and look for some in your area. They also have a killer prep book. If you go to your local library, they should have plenty of prep books for you to check out. Some prep classes are really just too expensive, so I’d try looking for some free ones first.

In order to get a 2400, you have to study tremendously hard. Try taking an hour or half an hour out of your day for a few weeks. Take practice tests (there is one on college board’s website)! Learn your vocab by reading, and try to practice your basic algebra and geometry for the math section.

i have to disagree with the above person, princeton reviews tests aren’t easy; in fact i did better on the actual SAT then i did on ANY practice test i took from them. think about it, why would they make their tests to easy, just so you can take the SAT and get a low score – thus never buying their books again. if anything, they make their tests harder than the real one. but i like them…

but anyways… why are you just taking it once? what you should do is take a test prep class… yes they are worth it if you want to score high on the test THAT badley. find the best in your area. do some searching. then consider taking the ACT as well… just in case that test is more ”your style”

Princeton Review sucks really badly. All of their books give inaccurate answers and/or tests that are too easy. Complete a Barron’s How to Prepare for the New SAT for a shot at a higher score.

A kid at my school got a 2400, and he said he studies the SAT review book and reads 6 books a month

Take the test whenever it is given. Your score will improve each time. Learn to read fast, don’t go in there with just a kiddie 9th grade vocabulary, and practice plenty of geometry and algebra.

When I first took the SAT, my score was low in the mid 1700s but then I got the sat guide from TutorFox: http://www.tutorfox.com/satguide.html and my score went up to 2190 (800 math, 760 writing, 630 reading). I highly recommend this guide for anyone wishing to get a higher SAT score.
