What does “to be precious about something” mean?
For example: She is precious about her privacy.I am precious about a new pair of suede boots that I don’t want to spoil in the wet slick streets. I am precious about my screen so I won’t let it scratch.

I have never heard anyone use the word precious in that context. However, it seems that it means “to hold in high regard” or “very important.” In other words, the thing that is being called precious is very important to you and you do not want any harm to come to it.

It means overly concerned to the point of fussiness. The slightest imagined fingermark on your screen and you’re freaking out and reaching for the lint-free cloth.
