What does this quote mean?

“There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened.”

To a certain degree it’s saying that the goal of anything in the universe is to try to figure out why we are here and what “it” all means. In the same sense no one person is to ever be able to possess such knowledge, because their reason for being there is no longer present. If the reason why we are here, is no longer relevant, then we in turn won’t be there any more and a newer more complicated world will reveal itself, thus allowing existence to continue again, with all people trying to figure out why we are here.

What I think its saying is that. If we are ever to discover the meaning of life / universe etc. It will disappear and we would be in another more bizarre world. Its like playing a video game, as soon as you finish one level you goto a more challenging level, with new and harder puzzles to solve. And some people think we already passed level one O.o … ..

Thats just my 2 sense.

I think it’s sort of self-explanatory. The statement is saying there’s a theory that probably is predicated on the idea that man is not meant to know certain things. That if and when we stumble upon the truth the whole of creation is ended and started over.

Douglas Adams, English humorist & science fiction novelist (1952 – 2001), also said:

“In the beginning, the universe was created. This made a lot of people very angry, and has been widely regarded as a bad idea.”

I believe his was being satirical.

It simply is an expansion on the idea that if the human mind were simple enough for us to understand, we would be too simple to understand it.

The idea is that the universe will not allow itself to be understood.

It’s not serious philosophy, but rather a hyperbolic joke.

this means that as soon as you unravel one mystery, another even stranger will pop up in its place. take evolution. it has recently been proved that two types of “man” lived at the same time. that also means that they did not evolve from each other. the questions that pop up there are, what did we really evolve from, and what did the other evolve into? hope this helps.

It are nonsense worse than mere mythology. Our world are altered merely because powers-that-be have evidently condescended to some level inexplicable, apathy pervadeth all.

Do away with these bogus theories! go straight to the source — God Almighty; He is the creator; and NO one knows how ‘something’ works than it’s inventor!
