Source of the quotation “The meaning of life is that it ends”?
I try to find the exact source of this quotation, commonly attributed to Franz Kafka. Does anybody know if it’s really from Kafka, and in which book it was originally written?

I don’t think it appeared in any of his stories; I think it’s a quote that’s attributed to something he said in actuality, much like many of Twain’s pithy sayings that never actually appeared in print.

Everybody agrees that it is from him, but I couldn’t find anywhere which book it was from. There was only a short list of books and articles.
