how does this peom sound?? its about the book “the winter of our discontent” by john steinbeck.
“Guilt”
The consequence of every crime
Ethan Hawley’s last emotion
All it takes is time
How far will Ethan go
To get what he wants
Now he knows
How to get what he needs
Thoughts of theft
Breaking someone’s trust
Just to satisfy what he has left
And to do what he thinks he must
Was it worth it?
The pain and the time
Just to fit
In with the line
When life got rough
All he had to do,
Was bluff
And now that it’s done
He is no longer tough.

sounds really good to me, although the second stanza is a little strange. i would change only the last line… have fun! 🙂
