What does this Irish proverb mean?

“Every man’s hat can be blown off by a fairy-wind.”

It just sort of intrigues me… 🙂

I think it means that the most stolid individual can be upset by the uncanny.

This quote is sad! It has a sad conception of a human being. It means humans are not control of their own lives and there are things that will ruin them that is outside their control. Well I say -**** that! Tape the hat with glue, it wont come off!

Your quote is very thought provoking. Well, I am not sure, but I believe it means;

Nobody is safe from unexpected, unforseen events. Things beyond our means can happen to each one of us at any given moment.

Who of us can look in the future and tell us what will happen tomorrow?
