What did you learn in school about evolution? Creationism?

I moved down to the South not too long ago from the north, and I am shocked to see that a lot of people who went to public school down here know NOTHING about evolution (i.e., they think evolution means YOU were a “monkey” when YOU were born… instead of referring to the origins of people (and all other organisms) in general).

What did you learn in school about evolution? I’m especialy interested in people who went to school in the south and/or went to Christian schools.

From K-3rd grade I went to a private Catholic school in the Philippines and I never even heard of the term. Nobody talked about it there, though of course I was only 9 at the time – still though, I don’t remember it having been brought up at all. I think the Catholic demographic over there is around 87% of the population.

I moved the United States and live in Virginia now. I really didn’t hear about it until 6th grade, where in science class we very briefly touched up on it. In 7th grade I moved farther down to the state, from North VA to around near Richmond, and we learned about it extensively, even having a debate. Virginia is considered to be in the South, though barely…I wouldn’t necessarily say that the farther you go South, less and less people know about evolution. It just all depends on the culture and religion of the area.

I went to a Christian School in the south. We didn’t touched on evolution and the big bang thery until 6th grade, though we talked about it from time to time. We read through the section of the Big Bang theory, (most of the class was laughing), and them when Vocabulary started, the teacher just summed it up as “a really stupid theory”.

I’m in 9th grade in Virginia, and we’ve been talking about evolution in history for about 3 weeks. It’s a lot more in depth, and it’s a public school, so most people don’t laugh. We basiclly had a whole section on it.

So there you go, 🙂

Creationism is a at the same time true and a mistake because they realy think that it happens in 6×24 hours.

But Peter said “Dont forget beloved that for God, a day may be thousand years and thousand years are worth one day”

This means that 1E-43 seconds (0. 42 zeros1 sec.) which is the Big Band is The First Day and 9 Billion years from the appearance of the first unicellulars life to now is 1 day too…

The second mistake is that in Genesis, a translation error happend when they say that “the spirit of God was over the water” instead of the “waves” wich means the original radiation of the black matter composing 99.99% of the Universe.

The second mistake is that God created man before woman because the woman is XX and God took a rib af the woman to make of her a man wich is XY.

Crazy, isn’it
