PSAT/NMSQT exams are these done in Canada as well as in the US, and are they mandatory?

Also wondering if it is done in Canada when and were to sign up.

You know what, I don’t know if you can do them, but I know they aren’t mandatory. If you can do it, you’d have to do it through your high school. NMSQT obviously isn’t available here in Canada since “National” refers to the US, not Canada. I know you can do the SATs, but I’ve never heard of someone doing the PSAT. These tests just aren’t the norm in Canada.

Here’s the website http://www.collegeboard.com/student/testing/psat/reg.html . It just says to contact your high school.

ADDED: I would suspect that it’s not available in Canada since qualifying for the National Merit Scholarship is only available for US citizens.

They are done in the US but are not required. However, by taking them you have a chance at earning a scholarship if your score is high enough. I’m not sure if they are taken in Canada.
