High school was boring — yes, I *was* one of the resident brainiacs, if that helps explain myself. And I had to get up earlier than I ever did in college. . . usually not having a class until 8:30 or 9 was/is so much nicer.

College, even though it’s been a ton of hard work most of the time (no, I’ve not even been getting much of the free time to “party” in this independence), at least lets you focus a lot more on the subjects you actually find interesting (to some extent) rather than trying to hit you with a little bit of everything. I really don’t have to learn a bunch of minute details in European history to do engineering work, and I could just take that up as a hobby if I were interested.
