Figure out what type of learner you are. Are you tactile, visual, or auditory? Tactile means you learn best from hands on stuff, visual means you learn best from seeing things with your eyes, and auditory means you learn best by hearing things. Most people are very tactile. If this is the case for you then you might want to try copying things over several times. When I was in college and wanted to get straight A’s I would copy things from my textbook even if I didn’t have to. When you do that you’re really paying attention to what is written, you are copying it with your own hands, and you’re seeing it twice (once in the book and once on your paper). This can help you remember things greatly. If you are auditory you may want to get a bunch of blank tapes and make tapes of you reading your textbooks. That way you can listen to the tapes over and over again with a portable cassette player. You should really try these kinds of things rather than just reading your texts and notes. These are great reinforcements of the knowledge you have already taken in. Good luck. 🙂

i know just how you feel, i had the same problem. First thing you need to do is buy a calender/agenda. It is a life saver. It lets you schedule study time or anything else. Flash cards are awesome. The can help you study for anything. I your case, you can put “adjective” on one side, and the definition on the other. Or, you could put a word on one side, then on the other, put adjective, adverb, etc. Hope this helps!

Have a notebook just for writing your homework for each class in. For each class, after they’re done, write your homework in them.

Do the homework for each of them every night, use about 40 / class to study. Then, Get to class early the next day to review your notes from the previous day.

Work for ten minutes then take a two minute break and continue your working.

Read read read! Understand. Ask questions. Take notes.

Eat healthy and sleep good.

You’ll do fine.

Have youtalked to your teacher about that yet? Just ask him or her for some ideas on how to study better, where to get help to understand language better and how to get organized. One of the easiest things you can do is read a chapter before the class so you already know whats comming up, then read again after class to get it in your head.

I kno you’ve probably heard this before, but try studying with a friend!! When the teacher presents with a concept that’s really hard to grasp, having a friend explaining it to you should be easier, because they just talk “our way.”

WARNING: Be sure that your friends are actually serious and they aren’t as easily distracted. omg so many times has this happened to me when my friends and I meet for a studying session and then end up playing c.s. for an hour…

ooh and stay organized and dont slack off

When you’re having memory problems, try drilling… make flash cards or something; focus on activities that make you constantly need to recall which things are adjectives and which are nouns, for example. Repeat the drilling on separate days.

I’m a big advocate of diet and exercise for alleviating many problems… and proper diet and exercise may help your focus and memory a little bit, so consider it. Fish oil pills are good for your brain. Give them a shot; who knows, you might notice them.

Where I’m from public schooling isn’t very well so should you desire a well schooling you ought to attend to a personal one. But this rather is dependent, a few public colleges are very well and a few are very unhealthy, simply as a few personal colleges are very well and others very unhealthy.

Go to your local library and tell the person at the reference desk you need help with certain subjects. He/she will be able to recommend books, CDs, etc to help you.

NOUNS:

person, place, or thing

Robert, Chicago, chair

ADJECTIVES describe nouns….

crazy Robert, windy Chicago, leather chair

VERBS

shows action

drink, sit, walk

ADVERBS describe verbs…..

drink slowly, sit quietly, walk quickly

You used to not be able to walk, talk, or write, and look at you now, kid! You’re gonna be fine!
