Why do you think schools and institutions should not force their students to take religion course?

Religion courses in general.

And if ever you are not mandated to take the course, what do you think is the reason why? And put your place for those you need to take the course.

And if you are required, do you think it is proper? Especially if your school is filled with students from different religion and belief.

I don’t think schools should force religious courses. I personally am religious and have been taught that it is an individuals “choice” to follow. I would take religious courses if offered, if it pertains to my religion. I wouldn’t want to be forced into taking a muslim class so I’m sure that’s how other nonreligious people think about any religion course. Religion isn’t something to be forced is all I’m saying.

Required to take a religion course is just stupid. Religion should taught by parents, not by public school. Everyone have different beliefs, and it’s just wrong to force your opinion on someone else. America is a wonderful country in which it allows for freedom in one’s own belief. If you want religion courses to be taught, go to a communist country. Unfortunately ofr you, even a communist country does not offer religious courses. If you want, do it in private.

Religion is free-willed. Forcing students to take up religion-related course might cause a difference line drawn among the students. Implementing religion courses would only spark racism.

I don’t think a school institution should teach students religion because a person should have a choice of what or who she/he wants to believe in, and not someone trying brainwashed them towards any given religion.

That’s my honest opinion.

Take care

Because no one can FORCE someone to study any ONE religion – “separation of church and state” ya know. If it were a survey class of all kinds of different religions, stressing tolerance, then I would approve, though.

99% of the world is religious. Taking courses will help you to understand different people.

And this is coming from someone who leans right.

Why is it that liberals, who want to sympathize with everybody, want to abolish this teaching? it will help you to understand different cultures.

I guess they aren’t as opened minded as they think they are.

if you want to teach your kid fantasy you should send them to church or a private religious school. i wouldn’t want my kid to be taught to hate people that don’t believe in what he or she believes in. the bible teaches people to kill anyone in their way who doesn’t believe the same things they do.
