How can someone achive success in High School?

You should not wait until the night before to start studying for any test or quiz.
Do your studying in 15 minute chunks, and in between, do something else for awhile, because after that your retention ability goes down dramatically.
It’s also great to study with a study partner. It can be good to study with someone who doesn’t know as much as you, because then you both teach each other. Teaching someone else makes you remember it better. But if you are studying with someone who knows more than you, that works too, because they will explain the things probably in a different way than the teacher explained to you.
Study every subject every day for a few minutes. Keep a binder, rather than a notebook, to organize and rewrite your notes as you study, making note of your questions. Ask yourself just before you leave every class “what did I learn today?” If you learned nothing that day, you need to make an appointment with the teacher. Make it your business to learn something from every class every day.
Avoid the pitfall of “learning” for a test. Learn because it is a wonderful gift of human life, and you deserve the best!
Read other books that have to do with every subject, both fiction and nonfiction, classics and newer publications. Be a constant, thoughtful reader. Articulate your opinions on what you read. This is highly motivating, as you begin to see connections and interconnections between what you do in school and your life.
Your other activities are very important as well. You want to be a well rounded human being. And you need to have fun! But you must look at your time and budget it appropriately. Leave time to think, to reflect, to exercise, to enjoy music, to play, and to socialize. None of these should take priority over your full-time job: to learn, but not even the learning, important as it is, should be so one sided that you don’t learn about human nature and life.
