essay tips?

I have been working on my high school diploma over the internet and that hasnt been a problem at all. My final step is to write an essay, I have done it twice and cant seem to get it right. They keep sending it back to me saying that its not my own words and experience so I figured that maybe just maybe online I could get some help. I guess I have been out of school long that the system has changed. My dream is to finish my high school diploma if anyone could please help me out I would really appreciate it. Thank you

Sorry if I’m missing the point but I don’t really understand, surely it can’t be in your own words and experience if they’ve sent it back to you twice now for that reason. If thats true then you don’t want essay tips, you just want to rewrite the essay making sure that everything you write is in your own words.

If you are working on your essay make sure that in your first paragraph you have a point you want to prove throughout your paper, such as this type of dog is stereo typed because….or this type of dog is the best type of dog to have because….This would be your thesis. Then throughout your essay have a least three reasons to prove your thesis. Make sure that your reason or argument is clearly stated towards the beginning of your paragraph and then prove your point in that paragraph with evidence from your resources. Your best bet is to get some resources to help proof your point. Be sure that you reference your resources and write a bibliography. Also make sure that you sum up your essay with a conclusion paragraph to wrap it all up. Also, decide what voice you want to use. Do they want you to use first person or second. Decide and then make sure you keep the same tense throughout your essay so you are consistent. Good Luck

I am assuming that the topic is open and you can choose your own. Choose something from your life; whether it is your experience or your views on someone else’s experience. The theme can vary from how you experienced a movie to your observations of behavior in a physician’s waiting room. In other words write about what you know.

Do you have any idea of what the essay should be about? Did they give you examples of what they would like to see. Any kind of standards?
