Hooked on phonics… is it worth it?

I have looked at the prices of hooked on phonics and I must say it seems expensive. I am wandering if there are any other programs that are similer to hooked on phonics that are not quite as pricey. Also, is it worth it? Do kids actually like the program? I mean that is the point isn’t it?

No program can work itself. I think the program is over rated. You can do the same thing by buying the workbooks from a company called Modern Curriculum Press. It goes slow with lots of practice. Kids will like anything that is made interesting to them. There are free programs on the computer you can also try. Again, you have to work the program . Kids can not work it alone.

Hooked on Phonics can be a great supplemental program if it will not confuse your child. What I mean by that is, some schools use very specific programs to teach reading and since Hooked on Phonics is a Phonics based program it can interefere with what they are learning in school. Speak with your childs teacher and figure out if this is the best program to use. There are many reading programs out there and ways to help your child at home.

If you decide that Hooked on Phonics is the best choice for you, then I would say borrow one from a library or Special Education Regional Resource Center in your area before buying it. Then you can try it out with your child and figure out if it is motivating. I have heard success stories of parents using it at home. I applaud you for looking into it and taking a proactive approach.

Simple mistake. The person programming his teleprompter did not spell it phonetically for him. I notice many have taken this opportunity to compare this with President Bush. While some of his pronunciations were unique, they were genuine, not something recited the way a news anchor reads off the news. He did not need two teleprompters to give a speech to fifth graders and he knows how many states are in the union without reading it from a screen. All things considered, I find President Bush’s mispronunciation of fact much more tolerable than Obama’s recitation of farce.

As parents, you’re the most important first step in your children’s journey into the wonderful world of reading. It is up to you to create the most supportive environment that turns your child on to reading – such as reading aloud to them often during the day and before bedtime, and placing age appropriate books for children around the house, so that the child will have access to plenty of books. Reading often to your child will help develop their interest in books and stories, and soon they will want to read stories on their own.

It’s possible to spend a lot of time and money searching for ways to teach your children how to read and improve their examining skills. Is hard to teach a small kid how to see, and even attractive them to see is a challenge in itself. However it doesn’t need to be that way because you got the aid of this program https://tr.im/ekOAu , Children Learning Reading program.

With Children Learning Reading you will train your child how to separate appears and break phrases in to phonemes, an important issue as soon as your child is merely learning how to spell.

The examining system from Children Learning Reading program makes it simple for kids to see rapidly and effectively, from simple words to phrases till they learn to see stories.
