When I was in college, a girl came to class barefoot and the teacher didn’t say anything. She also used to wear t-shirts with rude comments on them. As a teacher, my personal comment on it is that if something happened to your foot while you were barefoot your parents would probably sue the school.

I wasn’t a regular barefooter back in school, so I just did PE barefoot (as we all did, barefoot PE is normal here). I think it’d probably have been allowed; we had no dress code whatsoever, one guy wore wooden shoes (those aren’t normally worn by the Dutch anymore, except for on farms and such places), we had several people sporting colored mohawks, a male teacher sometimes wore a kaftan dress, and contrary to the general opinion in the US that it’s dangerous or gross, most folks here in the Netherlands believe it’s quite healthy to go barefoot. But I had never even seen anyone barefoot apart from beach, pool, gym, back yard, so the idea never occurred to me. Too bad!

When I went to art college, I did quite a few times. Mostly during a early morning class. Most of us just rolled of bed and many went barefoot. Personally I think they were happy we came dressed.

I did it once back in first grade, because the teacher asked us to go barefoot to Gym class. THe whole class went to Gym barefoot. I have to admit that I kind of loved it.

Several years ago when I was still in school, something very unusual happened. Three of the girls in my class got in trouble for passing their shoes around in class and signing them. Their punishment? They had to go to school barefoot for one week.

No. But i have taken my shoes off while i was sitting at my desk many times. No one noticed it, or at least they didnt say anything.

Well, i lost my shoes an went in with trainers, i just brought a note explaining it and they were fine about it

Afraid not. They won’t even let students wear flip-flops to school.

No. Except on Pajama day 🙂
