well, i would recommend a pencil pouch. it’s great for storing pencils, pens, highlighters, etc without them exploding in your bag or getting lost at the bottom. plus, you don’t have to replace your writing utensils so much. you can just toss it in and you’re good to go!

as for food, put it in a lunch box. as dorky as that sounds, you can at least keep the food altogether and your backpack clean, and you don’t have to actually take the lunchbox out of your bag. and you can bring cold drinks or hot soup to school!
