What subjects in school are usually hard for people?

A lot of people at my school seem to have trouble with English…I know a lot of guys who are in honors science, math, and history, but not English.

American History. It’s the most boring, mind numbing subject on the face of this Earth… I can deal with any other type of history… I loved European History, and World History too. Maybe its because that’s all I was taught about in elementary and middle school, but you can only read about the depression and the civil war so many times before you just want to gouge your eyes out with a spoon.

If you are talking about High School, Math classes seem to be the ones that are repeated the most, so they might be considered to be the hardest. The reason that so few people take Honors English is that most honors classes require more writing than a regular class and since English has a lot of writing to start with, the honors class has more than most people want to deal with.

Speaking for myself, I had the most trouble with advanced placement calculus, even though I never had problems with math before then.

I know that many people have trouble with English, the main reason being that Grammatical skills are not being taught as heavily in many American classroom anymore, so proficiency levels are dropping.

If a school offers classes such as philosophy, many find the subject difficult due to the logical and abstract thinking skills required.

Art can be difficult if you’re not talented or don’t understand it.

Foreign Languages are also difficult for many people, because they think that foreign languages are just English spoken with different, funny-sounding words when in reality it is a completely different system of communication.

It really depends, i find that English was my best and one of my favorite subjects (96% average)

Different people have different preferences for subjects thus the amount of effort that they put into a preferred subject is usually much more effort than they would put in a subject that they dis-like. This in my opinion effects what and how much they learn.

But while i do well in English, i have a hellish time in math, and sometimes science. I’ve been told that many people who are good at subjects like English, art, music usually use the right side of their brains more than the left side.

Like when you learn to write you find yourself becoming accustom to using one of your hands, left or right. This is the same way for your brain, you automatically learn and think using one side of your brain more than the other, the right hemisphere or the left one.

The right side of your brain is responsible for art, music, (creative side of you)

While the left side of your brain is usually for math problems, science problems, (used for logic)

It sounds to me like the majority of the kids in your school (who you say are having trouble in English) are more left sided, (thinking logically)

That or you just have a crappy English teacher.

:] Hope I’ve Helped.

it depends on the person taking the class. I personally am good at any math or science but both social studies and english just seem so boring to me so I have trouble paying attention

English is easy. Biology, chemistry, physics are the challenging subjects in college.
