is management a good subject to study at uni?

im considering doing a joint honours course in economics n management…bt i ws reading a management book earlier n it ws such obvious stuff written in there. n i began to wonder what really is the point of studying management, isn’t it common sense? and don’t the books just either state whats obvious or use complex diagrams and metaphors to represent how to solve problems which any one with some people skills could sort out? i can’t be sure so it’d b nice to hear frm people who have actually studied management. is it useful? do employers like it? and is there something genuine to learn?
