The basics are English, math, US or Canadian history, a science [biology or chemistry], a foreign language – and you should take these every year as you progress from freshman to senior. These are “solids” that will give you a real education for a future job or further education after high school. You can fill in the corners with electives [sometimes they require physical ed. every year too] like art, music, social studies [family, health, etc.]. Nothing an employer or college admissions evaluator would like to see better than “4 years of English, 4 years of math…” etc. on a transcript or job application. Get all you can while you can!
