could you learn how to play a violin all by yourself?
i had formal training but i have to stop attending due to some events..
is it possible to learn how to play the violin all by yourself..
any resources online (free)??

An instructor is always the best way to learn any instrument. However, there’s nothing wrong with self-teaching, and the most important time to have an instructor is in the beginning, to develop a good foundation. Seems like you may have already covered that! Shouldn’t be too difficult for you, as you already have mastered the basics of music. The violin is much like the guitar – except that it doesn’t have frets – but the main thing is learning where to place your fingers. Unlike keyed instruments, you don’t have any guidelines on the neck of the guitar, so that’s something you simply have to learn by repetition. But it can be done – and I’m sure you’ll have no trouble doing it.

that is the most difficult thing to do, because most people rely on the net, and thats not always accurate. i reccomend visiting a community college and see if they have violin instruction classes.
