What can I do to be the best, and most organized student that I can be?

I’m going school shopping and I’m getting ready for a new school year! What things can I buy, or what cool ideas are there, to keep me organized and on task?

Here’s what I’m looking for:

-Tips

-Ideas (Things like make this folder this color.)

-Thoughts

-Items (Things that I could buy to keep me organized.)

-Ideas for my locker (Cleaver and creative things to make my locker cool.)

-Stories about ways you stayed organized in school.

-Or anything else that you can think of that can help me!

Thank you for your time!

-Start with having a specified study area at home (that means no computer or mess, and a clear light source)

-Buy a certain colored folder for each subject (for example, green for science, red for math) and coordinate that with a binder and notebook of the same color.

-Get a little foldable shelf thing for your locker–it gives you three shelves to organize stuff better.

-If your school doesn’t give you one, get a homework agenda (Best investment I ever made)

-Buy a pencil case and invest in a pencil sharpener, pencils, pens, highlighters, a good calculator, and anything else you might need.

I’m the messiest person there is, and these worked for me so well that I went from a 3.5 GPA to a 4.2.

Good luck!

Buy a planner/diary. Keep all homework.things to do recorded in there. That way you can be organised.

For your locker try having personlized stickers and stuff like that on it. Or maybe posters. A really good idea for your locker is to have a little stick on mirror on the inside of the door so when you put your stuff in you can have a sly look at your hair to see if it’s alright.

Good for you! Your dedication and commitment to school and your education really reflect well on you as a good person, your parents for setting a positive example, and your family. You will have a bright future.

1) Dedicated time/routine to study. Set aside a specific time frame every day, and follow that routine schedule every day.

2) Have a good place to study. That means a desk/study area dedicated to this purpose.

– Have ample office supplies for your projects (Staples, paper clips, tape dispenser and tape, scissors, plenty of pens and pencils, calculator, three hole punch and plenty of three ring binders)

– Locate this place away from distractions. If you can have it in a dedicated study, good! Do not place this in front of the TV or the Phone.

3) Use the library. Libraries are a treasure trove, they are a excellent place to study and accomplish a great deal. I suggest that you utilize the library at your local college or university.

Public libraries cater to everyone in the community, so if you are dedicated to academics, the library at your local community college or state university would be a better resource. Most have full internet for research, have dedicated collections on academic focused subjects, and are filled with college students and researchers who are studious, quiet, and can inspire you to excel in your studies. Get to know them, you will find that each has it’s strengths that you can benefit from.

4) Get a laptop. You need a good computer with a good suite of software to help you. This is useful for taking down notes in class, researching at the library, etc.

Good luck to a good student with a bright future!

The best advice I can give about being organized is to keep up with your reading and homework each day. Don’t let it pile up- that’ll stress you out later.

Also, have a set time everyday to do homework. Getting in the habit will help you a lot.

What I did was I bought myself a Palm Pilot… though geeky, they really helped me keep track of dates, and I almost never forgot anything.
