national guard, college, and a job, too much?

i’m 19 and my parents have cut me off of them because they believe that the decision i’m making to go to a career college is the worst mistake i’ll make in my life.

so i’ve decided that i will go for what i want without their help.

i have always been interested in joining the national guard since my junior year of high school. i want to join them so they could help me through school since my tuition is so expensive. i was thinking about joining them and being in school and also find a part job somewhere so that way i have enough to live off of.

in your opinion…do you think i can make it through without my parents?

The guard is offering some really good bonuses plus you get tuition assitance that varies from state to state or college loan repayment. College, work and the guard is not a tough schedule for a youngster, I did more as a single parent, guard member, working full time and taking three or more college classes per semester yr round and serving on multiple boards. People have a need to make it seem like they are overextended when they are not.

give it a try…the guard is not a full time thing..unless they send you over there…the school is cool…look for financial aid and grants…might not need both guard and job…also cut back on your credit hours to give you a little more free time…also some colleges require freshman to get a dorm on campus…my daughter had to her 1st year…ask question on both places…good luck…beam me up socrates
