My chances of getting into Rice or any other music schools like Juilliard etc?

What are me chances of getting into those colleges in music (piano and cello). I started piano at 4 and still playing it and have won around 40 awards (state) for solo competitions. I also do mtna every year since 7th grade.

I started cello at 9 yrs old and got good enough to study with a top professor at USC (SC) for 7 years. I have also been in region and allstate for 6 years straight, some years getting 1st chair. I have done masterclasses with some well-known artists and went to summer music camps like NCSA and EMF for 7 years. I am in this scholarship program since 8th grade. I ahev also been in a youth symphonyfor 7 years.

I have performed at disney.

I have won my first concerto competition when was 13.

I have good SAT scores (around 1300) and top 10% or so of class. And i have PLENTY community and service hours (gathered since 7th grade). I am also in IB.

When you’re talking about music conservatories of that caliber, awards, honors, SATs, etc., don’t have a lot of weight. What they care about is whether you play EXTREMELY well and have potential for excellence as a musician. That being said, ask your teacher, talk to him/her, as they are very familiar with your playing level and also with the various schools. Also remember that when selecting a music college, it is how well you can work with a specific instructor that counts more than the prestige of the school’s name.
