the questioner

should I buy a shock gun or pepper spray?

I want to because of this guy I mentioned has been being weird. But I cross the street and guys will slow down or stare at me, I was badly harassed in high school and some of them know where I live and everyday it seems I’m living in fear.

If I go anywhere it has to be planned, I just can’t walk anywhere anymore

and the stress is taking a toll on my health and just don’t know what to do anymore

are there other things I can do that would help?

thanks

I would get the pepper spray and a keychain with a panic button that makes really loud noises.

well…as long as you KNOW you won’t carry it around and use it if someone turns a corner…as long as you know you won’t hurt anyone…i thumbed up the first guy, because pepper spray is probably best, a panic button, and yea, phone a friend when you’re anxious, casue it could build up and you could become paranoid because of your past…i’m like that, not cause of my past, but i’m just paranoid about like stalkers or something in my house…i guess i’ve gotten over it for awhile though…i still get a feeling though

You need to talk to a parent or teacher you trust. If you don’t feel safe, you need to discuss it with someone. You could buy one of those things, but it wouldn’t address the problem or solve it, just *potentially* deter it.

Also keep in mind that your body language is communicating your fear. Fear is a healthy emotion, but it sounds like you’re letting it get the best of you. You need to speak to someone about assertiveness training, as well as these people who seem to be worrying you.

Please speak to an adult you trust. They’ll be able to help you address it. Keep looking for help until you feel comfortable that the problem has been addressed.

I suggest pepper spray. It will make you feel more secure. When you’re walking somewhere and begin to feel nervous, grab your pepper spray and hold onto it. If you’re still afraid, call a friend and make them stay on the line while you walk, so if anything happens, they’ll hear and they’ll be able to help you.

You sure you’re not just being paranoid?

i’d get a taser gun if i can, I’ve heard it hurts more than stabs.
