Insufficient time to cater for all the different groups in mixed ability classroom?

When you are going over the pre-basics with the below average kids, the gifted kids are bored and throwing spit balls at each other. When you challenge the gifted ones, the average and reluctant learners drop out because it’s too hard. If you find a way to juggle those three groups and the below average kids, the emotionally disturbed students start acting out because they want attention.
