You have to get an undergrad in either a “pre med” program, biology or chemistry. You will also have to have stellar grades. Med schools are not interested in the mediocre either for intelligence or work ethic. Doctors work hard, and at a face pace. They have to both memorize and understand what they have learned, and then they have to apply that knowledge at a rapid and punishing pace. Plastic surgeons typically take an extra year or more to perfect their skills.

With that in mind, you need to think about where do I go for an undergrad? That’s a complex subject, but one that regularly sends students to med school is preferable. There are many stellar medical schools that provide opportunities to learn plastic surgery.
