One thing you want to be careful with. Any electrical work done in your home should be checked by a licensed electrician. Many people do it on their own, but electricity in the wrong hands, or in the hands of one who is ‘a greenhorn’ can dangerous, not only to the person working with it, but to the rest of the family as well. An electrical fire causing thousands of dollars worth of damage to your home can cost your family plenty; not mentioning their lives. The insurance company may not be too quick on paying either
Please be very careful.
About the most basic thing you need to remember is…. in a 110 or 115 volt wire, there is three wires. One is black, (hot wire), a white wire, (a ground wire), and a green wire, (the safety ground wire). You need to keep the black wire AWAY from the white wire at all times.!!!! The green wire goes on the three prong safety prong on a plug.
The black wire goes on one small bolt inside the plug, and the white wire goes on the other small bolt. NEVER put the black wire and the white wire together….you will get a jolt of electric, and a fire ball.
