Kind of like having your words run together like yours?

Obviously, it has to do with how they were taught or their lack of concentration during the lessons or some may even have a learning disability (such as Dyslexia). Some are in such a hurry typing that they don’t take time to check their spelling; some don’t care. Some have a hard time with certain word groupings (i.e. ‘ie’ versus ‘ei’, ‘ch’ versus ‘sh’, ‘ible’ versus ‘able’ or ‘ious’ versus ‘ous’). Sometimes its hard to know which ‘which’ to use. Some people just have a hard time recognizing those troublesome areas. Or they have a hard time remembering which letters come first (Wendsday instead of Wednesday; ‘Cheif’ instead of ‘Chief’ or ‘Thier’ instead of ‘Their’). Our language has so many different aspects and spellings to it that it is easy to confuse words and misspell them. Just like our grammar…obviously, misspelling words must be an annoyance for you whereas it annoys me when sentences are grammatically incorrect. Just like short cut words annoy me (like ‘Thx’ for ‘Thanks’ or ‘U’ for ‘You’ and especially ‘Teh’ for ‘The’). With all of the ‘Computer Language’ terms out there, people don’t care as much about spelling. Education-wise, I’ve had teachers tell me that it doesn’t matter if people don’t know how to spell…that is what dictionaries are for. Ironically enough, people listen to that.

I suspect that it is because of a decline in recreational reading and over dependence on spell check. Too many people just don’t think it is important to be a good speller anymore.

I also think that text-messaging plays a role. All those little abbreviations and odd symbols are taking over in daily vocabulary.

Many times people are just typing very quickly and trying to get their thoughts down before they loose those thoughts. Although people may be very intelligent, they may have never been taught or may have never internalized the mechanics of spelling.

Also, although I always try to spell check my answer before posting it, sometimes the spell checker simply does not work.

Because so many people on here are mildly retarded.
