Do schools have the right to decrease a students academic earning, because of a dress code?

Especially in New York City highschool, but i wouldnt mind universal answers. It seems students get more letter about dress codes, rather then about the sciences, and arts. are there any laws that contradict this?

you should write a convincing letter to the board of education

and explainning why you should not want to follow the dress code

and the effects of this

or u can go to PTA meetings and you can have a say in this

Regardless of what you think about dress codes, they are rules. If you are breaking the rules, you are subject to decreaced academic earning.I don’t agree with it,but that’s the way it works.
