I am currently enrolled in classes at AIU Online. I began with the AA degree in Jan 2006 and am now down to my final class for my BBA degree. I, personally, have enjoyed taking classes through AIU Online. They are accredited though the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (or something like that). The classes are application based, in that the weekly assignments require research in the textbook and over the Internet. There are no quizzes or tests. Every class will include group projects, in which you have to work together with a few of your classmates to complete the assignment. The drawback to taking online classes like this, in my personal opinion, is that you miss out on learning things that a traditional college class would provide (These online classes are only 5 weeks each). However, I know that I never would have obtained my degree if I had to rely on going to a normal college campus with normal class hours. The flexibility of these online classes provided me with the opportunity to complete my bachelor’s degree (with my last class yet to go, of course). I hope you found my thoughts helpful.
