ok so plug in -16=2(-5) +b. so you get -16= -10 +b. add 10 to both sides and get -6=b. so now your equation is y=2x+ -6

to write a linear equation with that information. just plug the points and slope into slope-intercept form. (y=mx+b)

so you would plug them in: -16=2(-5)+b

then solve for b using algebra. now you just plug in your “b” (y int) into the slope intercept form with the slope for your answer.

your answer should be: y=2x+(b) — whatever you get after you solve with the points plugged in goes where b is.

hope that makes sense.
