High waves were breaking into the boat, and it began to fill with water.

38 Jesus was sleeping at the back of the boat with his head on a cushion. The disciples woke him up, shouting, “Teacher, don’t you care that we’re going to drown?”

39 When Jesus woke up, he rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Silence! Be still!” Suddenly the wind stopped, and there was a great calm. 40 Then he asked them, “Why are you afraid? Do you still have no faith?”

41 The disciples were absolutely terrified. “Who is this man?” they asked each other. “Even the wind and waves obey him!”

The Baptism and Temptation of Jesus

The Widow’s Offering

41 Jesus sat down near the collection box in the Temple and watched as the crowds dropped in their money. Many rich people put in large amounts. 42 Then a poor widow came and dropped in two small coins.[a]

43 Jesus called his disciples to him and said, “I tell you the truth, this poor widow has given more than all the others who are making contributions. 44 For they gave a tiny part of their surplus, but she, poor as she is, has given everything she had to live on.”

These are fairly short and straight forward.

What is the shortest story in the bible?
I know this is an unusual question for me to ask but I go to a catholic school and for homework we need to make a scroll and write a bible story on it.

Also I'm doing my scroll on the computer so If you could find a copy of the story that would be great!

The book of Ruth! It is about love and sacrifice, fidelity under hardship.The love people show each other models God’s love. (It also has a small ‘cast of characters’, which suits a short story. The rebuilding of the temple is more like an epic novel, unless you focus on a personal story that takes place with the rebuilding of the temple as background.)

Ruth marries her husband dies and she tell her mother-in-law:

[16] And Ruth said, Intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God:

[17] Where thou diest, will I die, and there will I be buried: the LORD do so to me, and more also, if ought but death part thee and me.

And they go to Bethlehem.
