that’s a real nice question cos it diverts ur attention from its simplicity.

in algebra all parallel lines have the same slope so this question is just asking for the slope of y = 3/4 x + 5

and by comparing with da linear equation: y = mx + c

where m represents the slope u’ll see the answer

which is 3/4

y = mx + b

m = slope

b = y -intercept

parallel lines have the same slope

so 3/4 is the slope of a line parallel to y = 3/4 x + 5

parrallel lines always have the same slope, therefore the slope will once again be 3/4. and since you’re learning parallel lines you’ll probably learn perpendicular soon. so here’s how to find the line thats perpendicular to y = 3/4x+ 5. all you have to do is the opposite reciprical. since the slope is currently positive, make it negative, and then flip it so it will read as 4/3. asnwer = -4/3. but thats for perpendicular, dont get it confused with parallel. good luck 🙂

parallel lines have the same slope, so the slope would be 3/4

y=mx+b, where m, or 3/4 is the slope, and b is the y-intercept

if the question were asking for the perpendicular slope, which is the opposite reciprocal, the perpendicular slope would be -4/3
