Depends what you volunteer for. Many terrorists volunteer for their evil acts. Other people volunteer for legitimate charitable organizations. Volunteering for these charitable organizations can be positive if you #1 feel glad of the impact you are having, #2 are getting recognition in the organization as a contributor. The downside is you don’t get money for your expenses and you might spend more time than originally planned.

There are many advantages, which I am sure you can think up on your own.

Disadvantages to whom? To the volunteer? The organization? The clients?

depends on what yout volunteering for.

advantages: helps you on your moral, lets you feel like good, and gives you a reason for not completing or finishing something. you help out someone, shouldn’t that be enough?

disadvantages:tiring, and gives you less time for doing what you enjoy or need to do.

if you’re like me [and in high school] it gives you less time with your friends, and you are more rushed, but it does look good on your college resume. you might also feel good about your self. :]
