please explain what a predicate nominative is to me?

we are studying subordinate clauses and we just finished with noun clauses. and theres didnt types of noun clauses (direct object, indirect object, PREDICATE NOMINATIVE, subject, and object of the preposition.

Consider the predicate nominative as a noun that comes after a linking verb and RENAMES or stands for the subject–kind of like an equals sign:

He was a millionaire after winning the lottery.. Here, “millionaire” is the predicate nominative, telling you more about “he.”

Tiger Woods is the favorite to win the golf championship. Here, “favorite” is the predicate nominative, telling more about Tiger Woods.

notice in the above examples: He=millionaire.

Tiger Woods=favorite
