I’m doing a project on teen drivers texting?

I have to have 3 reasons why it’s bad to text.

Also i’m having a hard time figuring out a good intro.

Help?

Driving a car requires 100% awareness. More and more we are provided with information regarding the dangers of driving via television reports and advertisements, radio and magazines etc We can see the effects of speeding, fatigue and human error clearly as we watch the news showing us the latest deaths and injuries on our roads.

Our most vulnerable drivers are those that are inexperienced and drive with a false confidence that they are unbreakable i.e. teenagers!

One of the common distractions to a teenager is their mobile phone. In particular texting while driving. The teen looks away from the road to retrieve their phone, they then take their eyes from the road again to read the text, then both the eyes and one of their hands becomes focused on typing a reply text on their phone.

Not only are they distracted and not focused on where they are driving but they are also drving with one hand on the steering wheel and not looking closely enough to the surrounding area for possible hazards that may be occuring.

It is my belief that no teenager should be allowed to do any activity that requires their attention being taken from driving for any extended period of time, especially to use a mobile phone.

Hope that helps 🙂
